Pregnancy Yoga

Pregnancy and birth are arguably the biggest physical and emotional periods of change for most women. For many women it is a period of greater appreciation for how our bodies work, and is also a period of adjustment as the extra weight of the growing baby creates different physical pressures including pelvic and lower back pain.

Many women, including those that have never practised before, regular gentle yoga practice can be very beneficial physically and emotionally.

Our pregnancy class is designed for women who are 12 - 42 weeks pregnant. It is a holistic practice that can help balance fluctuating hormones levels, reduce the symptoms of common ailments like morning sickness, muscle cramps and fluid retention, and also helps to build strength required for birth and nursing a small baby.

Caroline is a certified pre and post natal yoga teacher, which will ensure you will get excellent care, attention and support up to your birth and beyond.

NB: Due to the specialist nature of the classes, and to ensure I can best support you through your pregnancy, I only offer the classes in blocks of 6 session.

Next term:

Thursday 5th September - 10 October 6.30 - 8pm

Mums & Babies hatha yoga

A special class designed to allow mums with babies to practice yoga and connect with their little one.  It is a relaxed and rejuvenating session that will vary weekly depending on the needs (& moods) of all participants on the day.  We will work through a range of floor based stretches and asanas (postures) that will engage babies with the use of rattles, scarfs and other props, helping to deepen your bonds with them, as well as giving you an opportunity to connect back with your body.  After the session you are welcome to stay for a cup of tea or coffee allowing you, if you wish, an opportunity to connect with other parents in the local area.

Please get in touch to discuss when would be the best time for you to start practicing after birth, as this will largely depend on the type of birth you have had, and how your body is healing.

Classes normally run:

Wednesday 10am
